With the exception of ratings without comments, we have included all the testimonials about us in chronological order, mixed in with the good as well as the bad. I am in the process of getting my pedicure and wanted to take the time to write a review. I have had several pedicures here over the past few years. They are always gracious….being conscientious to speak English to their customers and refrain from speaking in a language most their customers don’t understand (this is so rude). The salon is very updated, stylish and clean! Very reasonable prices. Quang is wonderful……I’ve had ridiculously expensive pedicures that were not even close to this! Thanks for providing me a wonderful experience after a crazy several days!

The experts at Salon Melange worked together to give me and my son excellent haircuts, and me an ideal straight razor shave and moisturizing facial, for my wedding. All for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Salon Melange for those times when everything has to be perfect.

I’ve been here a few times and every time has been amazing. The pedicure they offer is the best I’ve ever had: callus removal, scrub and rose petal exfoliation, hot rocks and hot towel, massage… I feel pampered every time I come in. I’ve had different technicians each time and each person has been friendly and professional. Though I no longer live near the salon, I will go to Melange whenever my nails need a little extra TLC!

Update!!!
I have now gotten a trim from Mai and she is wonderful! I love the products she used and she really made me feel beautiful. I have also gotten acrylic nails with shellac and it holds amazingly. My fills since have been superb. I really enjoy the atmosphere of this salon and it will be my main nail salon.
First review:
$13 Shellac manicure!! You can’t beat that!
But I will tell you there is a $4 add-on if they have to remove your prior shellac manicure. This is a very basic shellac manicure, you get what you pay for. They don’t cut your cuticles, and no hand massage. Which I’m totally fine with, however the manicure is starting to chip and it’s only been 1 week. The salon got me in and there was no wait. I was out within 25 min!! With the price so low, I will definitely return!

I have second degree burns on my feet from the pedicure i got from this place. I called to tell the owner about the situation, and she generously offered to give me a free manicure and pedicure to make up for the burns, but the cost of these services won’t begin to cover the medical expenses I have from these burns. The thing that really bothered me from our conversation was that she claimed that I had “sensitive feet,” and would not change which callous remover her business uses (the callous remover is what caused the burns). It was clear that she had no intention of changing her business practices to keep any of her other customers safe. I would recommend anyone who goes to this salon to ask the employee to not use any of the corrosive callous remover when doing a pedicure. On a completely different topic, my manicure here was fantastic. But not worth the burns I sustained. They are worse than they were a few weeks ago, and I don’t know how long I will be recovering from them.

Callous remover, also known as salicylic acid, is commonly used safely and effectively in most salons. However, like many topical creams in rare cases, can cause allergic reaction and/or skin irritation. We will not use the cream if we believe it’s unnecessary or if you let us know in advance. Mai is the best. I have been going to her for at least 11 years now. I don’t trust anyone else to wax my eyebrows. She also does hair and I got my nails done there too. Salon Melange is so cute and well taken care of. Mai has done a great job.

While the people were very nice, the gentlemen’s pedicure was actually a painful experience. The nail tech nipped my big toe when cutting the nail, then the gel they put on to reduce the roughness got into the open cut and burned like heck. At the end, the next day the nip on the big toe was turning red so I put on Neosporin to prevent infection and wore flip flops all day. Very nice people, so I hate to give them a bad review, but not a good men’s pedicure experience at all. Painful in fact. Would not recommend it.

My girlfriend and i love going here. They have a very nice staff and they have a back room that is a little more private. You can control whatever you want from their Apple TV. The prices are very reasonable and we refuse to go anywhere else.

First time at this salon. First thing I noticed was their decor. My style. All handmade by her husband. Mom & I each got a mani/pedi, plus i received an eyebrow wax. I see Amber here for eyelash extensions and I can honestly say that I will never go anywhere else! She does amazing work! I’ve been to multiple different people to have my eyelashes done and can say I have never been this happy with the services I have received. Beautiful + clean all around salon!

I have been here a couple of times and was quite pleased but not today! Rudest manicurist ever. Tried using toe nail clippers on my ultra short fingernails. Shellac was all over my hands and up the sides of my fingers so it will definitely peel off shortly. She spoke NO English and kept slapping my hands away from the light. Couldn’t understand what I wanted and was very rude about everything.
Then the person doing the pedicure picks up a razor tool and wants to know if I want my feet razored… No new blade in site. Never ever again. Sorry. It was good the first two or three times but obviously they have new talent that doesn’t meet my standards.

While it is true that a few of our nail techs are not fluent in English; courtesy, friendliness and respect are qualities we expect from all of our staff members. In regards to cleanliness, we regularly sanitize all our tools and use a new spa liner for every one of our pedicure. No exceptions. I moved to Salt Lake City 11 months ago & have been looking for a great place to get a mani/ pedi since I’ve arrived. I had a great place back and home and I’ve tried so many spots since I’ve been here. Really not happy with any of them. Well I’m happy to say I’ve finally found my place!! Service is great! Everyone is nice. They take their time with you. I don’t feel rushed out & it’s clean! I won’t go anywhere else!

Here we go, another nail spa review. I am a true Shellac loyalist and today’s mani brought me to Salon Melange in Holladay. The salon itself is super cute, playing ambient tunes and then some trendy indie tracks. The decorations and layout let you figure out where everything belongs and what services they provide. Waxing, Hairstyling, and Nails, they have it all.
I got squared away for a manicure appointment with no hesitation over the phone. When I arrived, I was pleased to see the jovial and professional environment. They treat their guests right and the quality of their products match. For my nails, there were tens if not hundreds of colors and brands to choose from, and yet it wasn’t so overwhelming given by the environment I’ve described above.
Salon Melange is a great spot for nails. I enjoyed the service and my nails looked great afterwards! For those of you in the Southeastern part of the city, it has a convenient location right on Highland. Open ’til 7 most days, this is a great fit if you’re a working professional and need a treat during the week. I’ll be sure to check it out again!

This is my new favorite place! I walked in without an appointment and was warmly greeted and asked if I could wait 10 minutes for an eyebrow wax. They were obviously busy but fit me right in. After a few minutes I was taken back for my waxing and was so happy with the results. Then to my surprise, the woman (I’m sorry that I didn’t get her name) pulled out an eyebrow pencil and showed me how to get a more natural look with my brows. This went way beyond what I expected and can’t wait to go back. I won’t go anywhere else for my brows now.

I don’t give out 5 stars often but I have been here a lot with baby and mom in tow. They are so welcoming. The whole staff and owners are very sweet. The pedi stations have disposable plastic linings making it very hygienic. Tina does my nails and I love her, a perfectionist like me. My mom is always happy with her nails and they are very sweet too my 10 month old son who can only last in a salon for so long. Mai does my hair and she does color very well. She has a huge following and I can see why. Love this place!

The decor on this place is pretty intense, it’s quite cluttered, but you can tell that the owners put a ton of effort in trying to make it look chic, which is always nice.
The nail tech I had was great, my shellac lasted three weeks, which was fantastic. It was one of the highest quality shellac paint jobs I’ve ever had. However, she definitely took a little too much of my nail off when buffing, so my nails were very thin, and after I soaked the shellac off they broke and are now extremely short. It was a great manicure overall, but not worth a few months of damaged nails. Next time, I’d definitely make sure that I don’t let them buff so much.
Another thing to note about this place is that the advertised prices outside are very much ala carte. I came in after a sign promised $13 shellac manicure, and left having paid around $35. That’s a pretty average price, but not when they advertise much lower prices.

I just love Salon Melange on 4698 S Highland Drive! Mai & her hubby are the owners & treat you like GOLD! Mai cuts & colors my hair just the way I asks her plus helps me reach outside the box for a more hip look which I end up loving! The style & music help it feel more like a spa than a salon. Great salon! Walked in on a Saturday and unfortunately they were busy at the time, but the very polite receptionist booked us for later that day. Came back for our appointment and had a fabulous experience. Great atmosphere, very nice and friendly staff, clean and comfortable environment. I got a gel pedicure, which took a little longer than a normal pedicure (which I’m assuming is normal), but the woman helping me was very nice and friendly. Good prices, $36 for gel pedicure which included a massage, hot stone massage, scrubs and all sorts of fancy, pleasant smelling creams. And my toes are so cute! I will definitely be back.
